Dolphin-shaped Personal Submarines
We’ve seen dolphin-shaped personal submarines before, but who knew it would turn into a mini-industry? Here I was thinking it was a singular creation of one nutty engineer with too much time and money on his hands, but now another one pops up a mere three months later. And, believe it or not, this one looks even cooler.

The Dolphin Boat seats two and is described as a “3-D jet ski” by its creators. It can pop out of the water even when traveling at a relatively modest 15 MPH (24 km/h), making me wonder how far it can fly when going three times that fast. Creators Rob Innes and Dan Piazza think that the boat would cost about $78,000 if they put it up for sale, but they don’t really want to make it available to rich daredevils due to safety concerns. Come on guys, what fun is having a dolphin sub that can leap out of the water if you can’t try to land it on a group of summer campers? — Adam Frucci
