Que puedo hacer si veo una foto mía desnudo o en top less colgada en Internet? ¿Y si no es desnuda, pero también quiero que la retiren?

Intentar localizar al propietario del dominio (tal vez en who is) y dirigirte a él paa que retire esa imagen y, si no lo hace, denunciarlo ante la policía. Si el titular del dominio (no el servidor) está en el extranjero, tal vez tenga en su aviso legal cómo reclamar (p.ej. www.youtube.com tiene la vía de la política de privacidad y la del copyright). El último, y más efectivo recurso, la denuncia policial: el Grupo de delitos telemáticos o la Brigada de de Investigación Tecnológica

Depende, no podrás si por ejemplo si la captación de tu imagen es accesoria a la imagen que concretamente se está tomando, y se está en un lugar público, pues no vas a tener mucho que hacer. En concreto, la Ley dice que el derecho a la propia imagen no impedirá:

GOOD Magazine: La revista GOOD hace pequeños videos sobre diferentes temas y los sube a YouTube. Esta vez le tocó a la pornografía en internet, representada en este caso por Kelle Marie. ¿1%? Algo así como 12% para ser más exactos, y un 89% proviene de los Estados Unidos.

Una de las claves del éxito Google, además de haber creado un notable buscador web, ha sido que la confianza de los usuarios se la ha ganado sin invertir (al menos, los primeros años) ni un sólo dólar en campañas publicitarias, y obteniéndola a través del ‘boca-oreja’ entre aquellos que utilizan sus herramientas, y que recomiendan su uso a sus amigos y familiares.

Como comentábamos hace unos meses, la confianza es fácil de perder, y una de las causas es que los usuarios comiencen a percibir que las herramientas no funcionan como se desea. Por ello, los responsables de los servicios de Google están permanentemente leyendo y escuchando las opiniones de estos usuarios, y una manera de hacerlo en la nueva WWW es monitorizando la blogosfera.

Adam Darowski es un blogger de Boston cuyo blog tiene cierta relevancia, y que el pasado mes de marzo viajó a Texas para acudir a unas conferencias. Según cuenta en este post, acudió a ‘Google Transit‘ para que éste le recomendase las mejores conexiones, en medios de transporte públicos, para llegar desde el lugar donde se celebraba el evento hasta su hotel.

Darowski, con gran asombro, descubrió cómo se le indicaba una ruta en la que la última parada estaba situada a casi un kilómetro del hotel, sugiriéndole que, desde ese punto hasta el hotel, realizase un paseo andando. Además, en ese trayecto tendría que pasar una vía de tren y una autopista (ver captura de la ruta recomendada).

“Um. ¿Soy Superman?”, se preguntaba irónicamente. “¿Cómo demonios espera Google que lo consiga?”.

Joe Hughes es uno de los responsables de ‘Google Transit’, y leyó la queja. Y para disculparse por el error del servicio, le escribió una carta manuscrita: “Estimado Superman. Lamentamos que Google Transit te enviase a esa excursión, y queríamos que supieses que tu queja nos ha hecho que mejoremos el servicio, para intentar que los recorridos a pie desde los puntos de inicio y fin de las rutas sean mucho más aceptables”.

Además, la carta estaba acompañada de un regalo, tal y como nos cuenta en este otro post: un kit (capa incluida) de Superman.

Seeking Alpha shows off this Compete.com chart showing how Google Checkout usage has fallen dramatically since December:

What happened after December? Well, Google stopped giving almost every Google Checkout user twenty dollars just for shopping. Like I said before, if you have to pay users to use your service, then it doesn’t deserve to succeed, and shoppers are agreeing. I don’t understand why Google Checkout needs to exist on websites like Buy.com, that have no problem processing credit card orders normally, and Google needs to find an excuse for their system. At least PayPal has a bank account.

Yes, yes all this talk about Web 2.0 is fine. But what about all the differences you see on the web because of it. Does anybody remember what the web looked like in 1999 when IE 5 was all the rage and it came bundled up with Windows 98 SE.

Apart from the most obvious things like better design, usability along with standards there are 7 things about the way a website just looks and feels different now because of most of the below annoyances that have been phased out by better designers. Here’s the breakdown -

Best Viewed In - Remember that phrase, you would see it everywhere! This site is “Best viewed in IE 5.5 or Netscape 6″ coupled with the screen resolution also being stated. This warning was enough for me to just leave the site and never never return. The only sites that still use that wording are the ones that haven’t updated their sites in years, or still employ the same people who run Win 98 SE on their computers. Hello! People it’s 2007…see we have this thing called Firefox, you can even see it from the sky. In fact here is a community message from Pizza Hut.

Get Flash Player - I’m so glad that Web 2.0 sites don’t have splash pages that say please download AJAX and CSS before proceeding to view our site. That would be a sweet parody though for whoever has time to kill.

But yeah, Web 2.0 has done away with giving you instructions on how to download it due to the fact that everybody put those get flash player badges on their sites, so we don’t need to see it anymore. 98% of the internet population has flash installed.
