What happened after December? Well, Google stopped giving almost every Google Checkout user twenty dollars just for shopping. Like I said before, if you have to pay users to use your service, then it doesn’t deserve to succeed, and shoppers are agreeing. I don’t understand why Google Checkout needs to exist on websites like Buy.com, that have no problem processing credit card orders normally, and Google needs to find an excuse for their system. At least PayPal has a bank account.

Ever happened this to you? There is a free application that helps you know if you´re recipient email saw your e-mail and is avoiding you… It´s called MSGTAG!!!

Everybody loves email. It’s cheap, easy and instant. But how many times do you find yourself wondering what happened to your messages? You send an email out into the Internet, then wait patiently for a reply. But will it get there? Will they read it? When will they read it? And will it be too late? Where’s the reply? Are they still checking that account? Are they on holiday? Should you just wait a little longer? What’s the story?

Message tags take the uncertainty out of email by allowing you to deliver messages, instead of just sending them. MSGTAG is a new desktop application that tells you when your emails have been received and opened. It works alongside your existing mail program, sending you an email the moment your message is viewed — just to let you know. MSGTAG simply lets you know they’ve got the message. So now you don’t have to wonder, because you’ll know.

Message tags notify you the moment your messages are opened
When your email is viewed at its destination, MSGTAG lets you know. You receive notification from MSGTAG telling you that your message has been opened. The notification also details when the message was sent, when it was viewed, and what the delay has been in between.

How is MSGTAG different from the read receipts you already get in Outlook and other email programs?
Unlike traditional read receipts, MSGTAG doesn’t hassle your recipient with pop-up boxes — it’s completely automatic — and you can send tagged messages to practically any email address, including Hotmail and Yahoo addresses.

MSGTAG works with most popular email programs, including Outlook & Outlook Express
The beauty of MSGTAG is that you don’t have to change anything about the way you write or send your email. In fact you’ll hardly even know it’s there — a small icon in your system tray is the only indication that MSGTAG is working quietly in the background. MSGTAG can be run on almost any desktop email program (including Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora and Pegasus Mail).
* Please note that MSGTAG is not currently available for Hotmail, Yahoo!, AOL or similar services. Tagged messages may be sent to these addresses, but not from them.

It’s unobtrusive.
MSGTAG runs in the background while you send your email as usual. This means that you don’t have to write your message into a strange little box, or alter email addresses before you send anything. One of the best things about MSGTAG is that your friends don’t need to do anything different either. There are no annoying pop-up windows asking them to send a notification back to you — all they see is a small MSGTAG footer stating that you’ve been notified of them having received the message.

It’s private.
MSGTAG’s technology guarantees that your messages remain just as private as usual. At no stage do we ever have access to your messages – your email goes straight from you to the recipient, without passing through our servers. No storing. No peeping. No handing your email address out to anyone. For more information you can check out our comprehensive privacy policy.

It’s simple.
We’ve designed MSGTAG to be easy to use. Our eye-catching capsule design allows you to enable or disable tagging with one click, while our high-end version displays your tagging and notification options in an innovative roadmap format, so you can see your tagging status and select new options without trawling through screens of pull-down menus.

MSGTAG is also a breeze to install, and can usually set itself up automatically with your mail settings. For more information, see our support pages.

I´m testing this fabulous WordPress Plugin on my Blog. I didn´t like to see a lot of “posting to social networks” icons in my post. I found this amazing Plug-In on the internet. It´s called Share-This

One simple link vs. lots of little icons

From the words of the Project:

Project Goal:

An icon to represent the generic action of sharing a web page. This could mean adding the page to a social bookmarking site or memetracker, e-mailing the page to someone, etc.

As the number of social sites explodes (del.icio.us, Meneame, digg, Netscape, Furl, Newsvine, reddit, etc.) it is becoming necessary and more common to abstract all of these links behind a single “share” link to avoid icon overload:

The share icon can fill an important role here, providing visual recognition for the general sharing action. See this in action on my Blog under each Post. There is a Share ir – Compartelo Icon. Try it and enjoy!

1. Microsoft Office 2007
Innovation? Microsoft? Yes, I´m were surprised, too, but the Redmond giant’s latest upgrade of the world’s most popular productivity suite introduces several new features that revolutionize how people work with documents. The most striking change is a “ribbon” at the top of the interface that replaces the traditional cascading menus and taskbars, and can expose functions you never knew were there. Through the suite’s handy new Live Preview feature, you can see how formatting changes, for example, will affect your document prior to your making them. You get greater XML-format support, too. Prices range from $149 for the Home and Student edition to $679 for the Ultimate edition.
2. Intel Core 2 Duo
As by far the fastest desktop chips we’ve ever tested, the Core 2 Duo series might have the greatest impact of any product on this list. Most of Core 2 Duo’s technological advances are obscured under titles like Advanced Smart Caching, Smart Memory Access, and Wide Dynamic Execution. Intel’s truly innovative accomplishment was managing to bundle all of those technologies together, while significantly reducing power consumption.
3. Parallels Desktop for Mac
The idea of running Windows on a Mac made plenty of headlines this year. While this Hades-freezing development is undeniably cool and useful, it’s hard to pin down which implementation is most innovative. We chose the slick virtualization software Parallels ($80), because it’s arguably the most useful way to run key Windows apps on your Mac. But we also want to give a nod to Blanka and Narf, the two coders who wrote the WinXPonMac hack that seemed to prod Apple to rush out Boot Camp.
4. Nintendo Wii
The $250 Wii video game console boasts powerful new motion-sensing controllers that make game play both more entertaining and more active. In specially designed games, you can swing the Wii Remote or the joystick-like Nunchuck to have your character smash a tennis ball or throw a nasty left hook. It’s fun and addictive, and ushers in a new era for gaming.
5. Samsung 32GB SSD
Bringing a flash drive of usable size to notebooks, the Samsung 32GB SSD hard disk (price not set at press time) heralds a new age in fast laptop storage, and sets the stage for upcoming hybrid drives.
6. Sony Reader
E-books have yet to truly make it in the mass market, but Sony’s $350 Reader (check latest pricing) may buck the trend. The device boasts a glare-free screen and innovative E Ink technology, which gives you the same resolution as newsprint and looks better than typical LCDs do in bright light. The Reader, slightly larger than a standard paperback, is easy to use and weighs only 9 ounces.
7. YouOS
Do you ever wonder how far the whole Ajax-based applications-in-a-browser craze can go? How about an entire operating system that runs in your browser? That’s what YouOS, WebShaka’s intriguing free site currently in alpha testing, is all about. Applications, data, and settings all live on the server. Set up an account, and you can access your YouOS desktop from anywhere, which gives a whole new meaning to remote access.
8. Olympus EVolt E-330
The $950 Olympus EVolt E-330 digital SLR introduces a unique feature to this class of camera: an LCD that can provide a live preview of your shot. In particular macro shooters and users with glasses should appreciate this, as it will save them some struggle with the viewfinder. To use the LCD this way, simply press the Live View button. You can see the scene at 92 percent (and have it autofocus), or at 100 percent (focusing manually) with accurate depth of field and the ability to magnify details to ensure that your shot is sharp. Image quality was good in our tests, and the camera includes Olympus’s top-notch cleaning mechanism to keep dust from marring your photographs.
9. Google SketchUp
This drawing program makes creating 3D structures supereasy. You can have a model done in minutes, then save, print, or add it to Google Earth to share it with other users. You also have access to a plethora of ready-made structures via Google’s 3D Warehouse, and Google SketchUp’s thorough online documentation can help you past any rough patches as you build. The program works with both Windows and the Mac OS–and best of all, it’s free.
10. Sony PlayStation 3
A multicore cell processor. Blu-ray. Wi-Fi. A custom-designed nVidia graphics chip. A motion-sensing, wireless controller. We’ve seen many of these technologies before, but Sony gets major points for managing to pack all of them into one machine. And while $599 sounds like a lot for a game console, the 60GB Sony PlayStation 3 probably has more power than your average budget PC (a slightly less powerful version is available for $499). The PS3 is truly focused on high definition, and our first tests showed that it’s arguably a better Blu-ray Disc player than Samsung’s first $1000 effort.
